Qualification Description

This qualification enables students to gain the necessary skills to work in the Aged Care as well as the Disability sector. It trains individuals to provide compassionate care and support to the elderly and people with disabilities.

 

 

What has changed!

This Qualification supersedes or replaces the following:

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual support

Packaging Rules

To be awarded a CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability), you must complete a total of 15 units. (9 core units and 6 elective units)

Work Placement Requirements

To achieve this qualification, you must, besides completing the theory part of the qualification, complete 120 hours of supervised practical placement. The placement may be in an eligible aged care facility or in a combination of aged care as well as disability Organization.

Our RTO Placement Coordinator organizes all students’ placements; however, students are welcome to organize their own placement should they choose to.

Requirements prior to work placement for Guidestar Training & Professional Services

  • Completed theory work for units of competency
  • Police Clearance (no more than a year old)
  • A current First Aid certificate (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid)
  • Proof of Manual Handling Training (Done at Guidestar Training & Professional Services)
  • For (Disability) and (Home and Community Specializations, a valid working with children check)

• Satisfactorily complete Guidestar Pre-Training Review Process which includes language, literacy and numeracy test (LLN)
• Demonstrate ACSF level 2 during the LLN process.
• Be over 18 at the time of course commencement

Course Duration & Study Options

This course is designed to be completed over a period of 52 weeks.
We have day, Evening and Weekend classes.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARING (RPL):

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available to all students applying for this qualification. Recognition of prior learning is the recognition of your current skills and knowledge acquired through prior learning from other training, work or life experience.
